Dunoon Grammar School received a generous donation from local business, Cowal Building and Plumbing Supplies. Learning centre pupils had written to them to ask for gravel and membrane to repair and build new paths in the garden. Cowal Building and Plumbing Supplies delivered all of this without charge. Learning centre pupils and staff work closely with a number of local partners. They are very grateful for this gift as it will mean that all pupils will be able to walk and play in all areas of the garden. Learning centre pupils estimated that in each bag of gravel there are approximately 1, 560, 384 stones. They counted how many stones were in one handful which was 86. Then they weighed how much one handful was which was 50g. Then they divided a tonne by 50g which was 907 185 and times this answer by 86 to get the answer!
Learning centre pupils would like to thank Cowal Building and Plumbing Supplies for donating over 3 million stones for the garden. Pupils and staff worked together on Thursday afternoon to move the gravel into the right place. The garden is looking much better.
